The Chaos

Art for Art's Sake and Outspoken Pride in Your Work!!

Well, now that we are well into 2018, and things are getting actually busy in the world of chaotic images, It's high time I get back to some blogging and settling into a better routine of getting my thoughts and shots out there.

I have a great appreciation for those of you who started following my blog and my various social media accounts last year when I began spinning up and I thank you.  But I was a little premature and not quite ready for prime time when I did it, and it caused me to lag a bit behind.  Now that things are rolling a little stronger, I will be getting back to screaming to the world!

So lets get started with how stoked I am to have learned that I had a photo chosen for an International exhibit in Milan, Italy!! This is the second of my works chosen for international exhibits in 2018, the other is in Cape Town, South Africa.  It is such an honor to have my work chosen for these exhibitions.

I love having a camera in my hands. When I shoot portraits and personal works for people, it is unbelievably satisfying to see their reactions and know that I have given them a moment in time that cannot ever be re-lived.  When I am shooting art shots, I feel a pride in the fact that I am adding to the heart and soul of our world through my unique perspective as an artist.  Even when I am shooting mundane subjects for my stock photo portfolio, I always try to give my own unique view and vision of the subject;  finding my work already used in so many places after having only begun selling stock work 8 months ago, I feel like I am contributing to other's efforts in their work in print and electronic publishing in so many genres.

It's a very good feeling to know that something you are so passionate about can have such an impact for others.  Many people dismiss the need for art in our world, many others dismiss the feelings art inspires, for both the artist and the viewers/readers/listeners.  To them I say...Go live your boring unfulfilled life and let those of us who understand art's place in our soul continue to do what we do best...Inspire others, inspire ourselves and bring passion to the human condition!  Art inspires us as humans.  Images created with pen or paint, words or photos, lyrics and sounds...those images, mental and physical, drive the greatest among us in passion.  They inspire artists and scientists, romantics and dreamers and help bring to our world a new dimension of thought and perception.   ART in any form, is a manifestation of what truly makes us human; our passions, our dreams and our hopes.

I recently had someone tell me that I go on too much about how proud I am of the joy expressed to me recently from several clients of recent portrait and candid shots I composed.  The sentiment really got me thinking about pride in our passions and expressing that pride.  Too many people try to tell others to be humble and not talk so much about their achievements and successes, when what we should be telling one another is to scream your pride and achievements for the world to hear from the highest places you can climb.  Showing pride in your work, your achievements and in your successes shouldn't be seen as a bad thing, certainly there are ways to express this pride with humility and decorum, but having that pride and showing that pride are nothing to discourage...In Art, in Career, in love or in life.  So few have the courage to share their art and their pride and so many very talented artists live an entire lifetime, never creating and eliciting the emotions in others that art inspires, simply because they are discouraged by others or by life in general.  TAKE PRIDE IN EVERYTHING YOU DO, and you will never have a failure, only learning experiences and successes!!!
