The Best Laid Plans of Mice & Photographers...

Princess Peyton...

Well...As the title insinuates...my weekend shooting didn't go as planned, my beautiful wife and I never managed to find the time to do the specific shooting we were planning as things went a little crazy with impromptu plans popping up...BUT, I did get the opportunity to shoot a few portraits of one of my favorite toddlers, Peyton, so that was great!  Peyton is a dream subject for toddler portraits, she absolutely LOVES the camera, and is amazingly photogenic in front of it!  Smiles come VERY naturally for her and her expressions are natural and priceless!!

Peyton is the beautiful daughter of one of my closest friends and a member of my "Chosen Family", so I am often afforded the opportunity to shoot Peyton and she ALWAYS gives me such amazing frames!  Whether snapshots impromptu, or portraits as a goal, she is great!  I look forward to photo documenting her years for the family!

Shooting babies and toddlers can be some of the most challenging portrait seatings a photographer will ever deal with, there are so many factors with the little ones, are they hungry? Tired? undisciplined? over coddled?  All of these things can affect the experience...are they a happy child in general or a grumpy child?  what produces these various situations is not my job as a photographer to assess, My job is to get the shots that will ultimately be what a parent wants to see and remember.  Those smiles and expressions that every parent wants to see eternalized,  no matter what the variables presented for the day are.  This can be a difficult task, or it can be a smooth and natural task, because children, just like adults, are snowflakes in design...each is different and each comes with their own unique personalities.  As a photographer, we have to be fluid in our handling of subjects, especially the little ones in all their unpredictable variables!

Capture Moments...Capture Life...Capture CHAOS!!!
